It’s been awhile since our last post. Things have really picked up. A few updates
Our boarding facility is almost ready. Don’t forget our grand opening party will be at the newly designated OC Canine Fitness Park, located at our old hospital location 434 S Tustin St.
We should have information on the boarding facility available online within a few more days.
To keep our park clean and well maintained (and keep our neighbors happy by preventing misuse), we are starting a membership. Fees will be nominal. information will be coming soon.
Fleas are coming back with a vengeance. What I’ve feared is coming to pass, certain topical flea products are failing. I saw a dog today, covered with fleas and the owner bought the product at a big box retailer, brand name, and has been applying it every 3 weeks.
Allergies are back too. Watch for itchy dogs, licking those feet, and shaking those ears. Cats will scratch and cough. Let’s intervene before it gets bad.
Puppy classes are starting with Margo, our trainer, on June 21st. Puppies 8 weeks to 6 months. Vaccines need to be current to their age. Classes will be held in our reception area (which will be fully disinfected before arrival of the puppies). Puppies do not have to be existing patients.
Grooming is going well. You have to meet Joann. She is incredible. She is so patient with the animals, and so filled with love for them. Besides being a great groomer, she is active in cat rescue. When making an appointment for a first grooming, please make sure to meet her personally. She’s here in the mornings until she’s done. That way, she can make sure to get the haircut the way you want it (our receptionists are very good, but sometimes it’s difficult to communicate such a visual description).
And we have good news/sad news. Petey, the white and brown long-haired cat that some of you may have seen wandering around the last few years now has a new home. It’s wonderful for him as Alice, his new owner, loves him so much and so he has a happy home. But we do miss him terribly.
Also, you really should meet Dr. Murphy. She’s at our hospital on Thursdays and Fridays. She is very knowledgeable, kind, and adores animals. She is a very good surgeon and, like me, supports animal rescue. She has been a wonderful addition to the team.
We are working hard on website updates. Please check back often. I will put out information on our site.
Lastly, we would love if you take the chance to review us online, on sites such as Yelp! or Google. If you are happy, please review, as it helps us to grow. If we didn’t meet the high level of service and satisfaction that I want, please call or email me so we can work on setting it right.
Thank you
Dr. Horn
