If you are looking for a new pet, or know someone who is looking, please don’t go to a pet store. There are literally thousands of dogs and cats that need a good home. Some are at the shelter. Others are in the care of foster families through various rescues.
If you adopt a pet from the shelter, you will literally be saving its life. But you may have little background and risk of infectious disease is high.
If you adopt through a rescue, the cost maybe a bit more, and these pets have already been saved (many rescued pets are adopted out of the shelters). But there is less risk of disease and the rescue group will know a lot more information on the pet.
If you buy a dog from a pet store…you spend a lot of money. You risk infectious and genetic diseases, and you support pure capitalism of the puppy mill system (it’s all about volume)
Please look at these guys that need a good home.
These two Great Danes, age 4 and 7 need homes or at least a foster. They are mother and daughter. Their owner passed away.
These two yorkies need a home together. They have been raised in a cage for years and will need extra social skills and training.
If you are interested, please let us know and we can get you in touch with the rescue groups in charge of their care.
Thank you
