Pet immunizations are nothing to scoff at

There are some pet owners who may believe that getting their pets immunized is unnecessary. They may even think that it is unnecessary pain. Fact is they are extremely important, and in the best interests of both the owners and the pets.

It is important for pets to receive the right immunizations at the right time. Each vaccination is given at different intervals depending on the individual pet’s needs. Research is being done all the time which determines what vaccinations are needed, and how long each vaccination lasts.

While older pets can be seen twice a year puppies and kittens are different. Puppies and kittens require being seen about every three weeks until they are 16 weeks old. Other animals such as horses and birds can receive their vaccinations bi-annually or annually.

It is important for a pet owner to discuss their animal’s vaccinations with their veterinarian. Your veterinarian can help you to determine what vaccinations your pet needs as well as how often they are needed. Remember, preventative vaccinations and treatments now will likely save your pet from suffering, and you from costly treatments later on.
