Whether or not you are in Orange County pet owners have to deal with those pet pests. The best way to deal with fleas and ticks is prevention. These tiny parasites can cause your beloved pet pain and irritation, and cause them to get ill.
Fleas bother cats and dogs alike. They can transmit diseases and worms to animals and humans. Fleas prefer humid and warm conditions. If they are already in the home then they can thrive through the winter months.
Tick also bother cats, dogs, and people. Although they are related to spiders and mites ticks are not insects. Their bites are annoying and painful. They are mostly found in areas with lots of vegetation, and are dormant during the winter. They can make people and their animals sick with many serious maladies, and can sometimes cause death.

There are two way to go in flea and tick prevention. There is the chemical way or the natural way. It is important to recognize that there are pros and cons to each one. If an infestation has already begun then your veterinarian may recommend that you use several methods in combination to get rid of the pests.
So remember to vacuum floors, wash their bedding, and make sure to give flea and tick treatments only as directed.
