A TV channel that’s for the dogs

For all of you TV junkies, it’s now an established fact that dogs like TV too. But dogs don’t want to watch Snooki or the Situation, or the crazy antics of the Kardashian clan. Nope, they prefer TV that’s for the dogs. Yes, that’s right, there is now an internet based TV channel just for dogs www.dogtv.com. Currently, it’s available on-line and mobile devices. I’m sure, it’s coming soon to Roku or Apple TV if it’s not already available. The cost is $9.99 per month.

Of course, while the channel is labelled as therapeutic and dogs really seem to like it, is it truly good for them? Can too much TV lead to lack of social skills…with improper greeting rituals at the dog park? Will it led to an increasing canine obesity epidemic? Can it cause permanent damage to the eyes? Should it be limited to no more than 2 hours per day? How about earning TV as a reward for good behavior and good grades in training classes?

Most likely, once it becomes available, we will stream the channel for our boarding dog’s pleasure (currently they watch pets’ TV channel).
